International Naïve Art Gallery Opens First U.S. Location With a Mix of Original Artwork and Unconventional Approachability and Sophistication Founded by Dan Chill, an enthusiastic Naïve Art collector, the concept for GINA Gallery grew out of his personal passion and private collection of the artwork by various cultures around the world. "GINA Gallery's mission in the United States is to introduce the world to a centuries-old beloved art form," says Chill, managing director of GINA Gallery. "Gallery visitors will be immediately touched by the heartwarming portrayals of everyday scenes that celebrate the joyful human narrative." With only one other location in Tel Aviv, Israel, the gallery's New York City location will make it the exclusive exhibitor and seller of the highest-quality Naïve Art in the U.S. The gallery will exhibit Naïve Art from 25-plus countries by more than 275 artists, each handpicked and visited by Chill in his or her home as to better understand the environment that has unlocked the hearts and imaginations of these artists. The widest selection of fine Naïve Art is only the beginning of what is sure to be the gallery's unique appeal. "Representing Naïve artists from Canada to Argentina, from Portugal to Russia, GINA Gallery spans the world of Naïve Art and will serve as the authority for international Naïve Art in the U.S." Chill says. "What we hope to do beyond that is to introduce an entirely new population of people to the joys of collecting art and entice seasoned collectors with our artists' paintings." New Art / New Location "Naïve Art returns us to timeless values, themes and traditions," Chill explains. "Naïvism's innocent idealized world, its rich palette of colors and its peaceful narrative of the day's events remind us of a better place and time. The sheer beauty of the paintings, combined with their undervalued status in the art market, make Naïve Art an attractive purchase for savvy collectors, interior designers and casual browsers alike. In keeping with its unique approach to the art world, GINA Gallery will eschew New York's major art gallery districts and will instead be located in close proximity to some of the city's favorite culture landmarks on Manhattan's Upper West Side, like Lincoln Center and The American Museum of Natural History. GINA Gallery will be a welcome addition to the rich colure of the community, while becoming a destination for art-lovers from across the country. Visitors to the custom-built, 2,000-square-foot space will be delighted to view an expansive collection of museum-quality Naïve paintings in a variety of styles, sizes and price points. The opening of its New York space will enhance GINA's reputation as the world's authority on international Naïve Art. GINA Gallery's opening exhibition, "Rites of Spring," will feature more than 75 paintings that will focus on popular Naïve themes of nature and village life. About GINA Gallery GINA Gallery is the United States' exclusive location dedicated to the exhibition and sale of international Naïve Art.
